Measuring our success through lives changed, stigma broken, and hope restored
Making a tangible difference across Kenya
Real stories, real impact, real transformation
When Chebet developed postpartum psychosis after the birth of her second child, she felt lost and alone. The symptoms were overwhelming, and she didn't know where to turn for help.
Through our community outreach program, Calmind Foundation connected with Chebet during one of our sessions at a local health clinic. Our team recognized the signs and immediately provided her with the support she needed.
We helped Chebet receive a proper diagnosis, connected her with a qualified therapist, and provided ongoing support throughout her recovery journey. The transformation was remarkable.
Today, Chebet is not only healthy and thriving but also mentors other mothers facing similar challenges. Her story represents the heart of our mission: turning personal struggles into community strength.
Contributing to systemic transformation in Kenya
We contributed to Kenya's Mental Health Action Plan (2021–2025), helping to shape national policy that prioritizes maternal mental health within the broader healthcare framework.
Supported efforts to decriminalize suicide in 2025, removing legal barriers that prevented people from seeking mental health support and reducing stigma around mental health challenges.
Our ongoing partnership with the Kenya Parliamentary SDG Caucus ensures that maternal mental health remains a priority in national development goals and budget allocations.
Our vision for the future of maternal mental health in Kenya
Help us continue transforming lives and creating lasting change in maternal mental health.
